The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch effective through Tuesday afternoon for the American, King, Butte and Rim fire burn areas in Placer, El Dorado, Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties.

Anyone living or traveling on roads in the area should be on the lookout for flooding and rock and debris flows. Since large portions of the area have been severely burned, they cannot easily absorb rainfall.
