.......our peaches

I remember the first time I went up to Apple Hill....here in California. It's a vast area of apple farms.....that has tourism built on the fact that one can visit farms......buy apples.....and oh my...those bake shops too!

I am curious type of guy.....love to see the real happening of a business....not just what is offered to the public. Restaurants...I used to ask to see their kitchens....and most would do that. Same for manufacturing. Farms too.

.....and this is where I was shocked. The farms of Apple Hill.

So many fruits were laying on the ground. Later to find out why this was....from thinning of the growing fruits to "fruit drop".....it just ended up on the ground. After some doing research on this......turns out that this waste happens to all orchards. That trip to Apple Hill years ago.....made my hens very happy.

Hens? That's right....the hens. I take all of the orchards dropped fruit.....and run it through our www.drpower.com commercial wood shredder (not the big tree service type) . The results you see in the picture that I have here. One bucket full weights about 20 pounds. That's a five gallon bucket of $$$$
