Whose vision is it?

Leaders plant and nurture vision. They show the people in their group how they fit together to form the vision. Leaders own the vision when others don’t, and keep people focused until it materializes.

But who picks the vision? How can you as a leader, know you have the right vision?

Here are a few ways you can find the vision that is right for your group:

1. Listen – God brings a group of people together for a purpose. Listen to the people in your group (or congregation) to hear what God is saying. (Not just one individual – listen for a common theme.)

2. Look – God put your group in a community. Why did He put the group there?

3. Release – God gave you ability so that you could help other people do what He has called them to. Release the people to fulfill their calling.

Leaders often feel alone. Christian leaders should feel like conduits – helping people connect to God, connect to community, and make a difference.
