....my taste buds were torturing me

I was working the Boysenberry patch yesterday. A bumper crop is en route. It's tough in there. I am not talking about pulling the weeds......nor pruning off the growth that has prickly thorns......not even talking about having to train the vines. Do you have a clue as to why it was tough? My taste buds were torturing me.....of the sweet images I had in my mind.

We are finally on the way to expanding the Boysenberry patch. I spend the day installing more starters in the areas of void.....to get a 100 % full isles. There were open spots that had died off or some other issue.

Also.....I have started to make a brand new grow area for next year....out in the "rabbit cage" field. The rabbit cage area is a field that we built a fence around the entire perimeter to keep the wild....and hungry critters out.  Furrows with drip emitters has been installed. T postings and  wire has been installed. This year these rows will be used as tomato production. Then next year...... the boysenberry cuttings that I have grown......will be installed. This whole project will be repeated for the next three years.

The berry business is very good. It's a "can't go bad" business. We sell and use 100 % of our production......and can easily sell 10 x more! Berries are a good crop for the beginner farmer.

Good crop for the farmer's pie desert too!
