WEST SACRAMENTO —

The California Highway Patrol is still investigating a possible wrong-way crash which happened Monday.

Meanwhile, family and friends of one of the two victims are said goodbye to a man they remember as a pillar in the West Sacramento community.

61-year-old Marvin Walker was one of two drivers killed in a three-car collision on Highway 50 near the Interstate 5 connector.

“So many people had love for him,” said Charmaine Walker, Walker’s daughter, who is moved by how her father touched so many lives. “It was just crazy that somebody that lives on the streets and don’t have nothing, came and put his change in my dad’s donation thing. It just was like your dad always fed me, I’m gonna miss him.”

Dozens of others gathered at the Bryte VFW hall Saturday for his memorial service, including fellow members of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club.

“One of a kind personality. Everyone loved him. He was full of spirit,” said Calvin Jefferson, President of the Buffalo Soldiers.

A proud army veteran, Walker ran Marvin’s Quality Auto Care on Sacramento Aveune in West Sacramento. He often allowed his customers to pay him back in installments when he fixed vehicles, always on the honor system.

“If they needed something they couldn’t afford, he would give them a good rate,” said Jefferson.

He also was instrumental in helping his younger sister, Valerie Duncan, kick her drug habit.

“He would always tell me ‘Valerie you can do it. I have faith in you. I believe in you.’ Today I’ve been clean and sober for 10 years,” Duncan told FOX40.

The CHP is still investigating what caused the crash that took Walker’s life.

Investigators have said it could have been a wrong way driver or possibly a spin out and head on collision.

Meanwhile, Walker knows her father is smiling down from above.

“He’d be so happy. He’ll be like boy, you’re daddy was the man. They love me, girl,” said Charmaine Walker.
