KALAMAZOO, MI -- Here's what we know about the mass murders in Kalamazoo County, which started late Saturday, Feb. 20:

1:20 a.m. Police said they had a "strong suspect" in custody

  • Police were looking for a white man in his 50s who is shooting "at random" and has killed six people.
  • The man was driving a dark blue or silver HHR sport-utility vehicle.
  • The first shooting occurred at the Meadows Townhomes complex, 5066 Meadows Blvd. around 6 p.m. There, a woman was shot in the parking lot. She is in serious condition.
  • A second shooting occurred at Seelye Ford, 4102 Stadium Drive, shortly before 10:30 p.m., where two people were shot and killed in the parking lot. The two killed at the dealership were both male, and are believed to be a father and son who were looking at a vehicle, Kalamazoo Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley told WWMT.
  • Around 10:30 p.m., four people were shot and killed in vehicles in the parking lot of Cracker Barrel, 5581 Cracker Barrel Blvd., off of 9th Street in Texas Township. Another person, a 14-year-old girl,
  • Police at 12:30 a.m. confirmed they responded to multiple reports of shots fired at OP and 6th Avenue in Texas Township. No victims were found, police said.
  • Police at 12:40 a.m. arrested the suspect on the north side of Kalamazoo, near Ransom and Porter streets.
