Sheriff Ron Long said in a news release there are at least two suspects in the shooting who fled before deputies arrived on scene. As of Sunday afternoon, no arrests had been made.

Long said the shooting occurred just after 3 a.m. in the 21000 block of Laramie Road near St. Robert. There were seven other people in the home at the time of the shooting who were not injured, according to the sheriff.

The fatal shooting might be connected to an incident that occurred about 30 minutes prior in which shots were fired into a home in St. Robert, according to Long. No one was injured in that incident.

The sheriff is asking anyone with information on the shootings to call his office 573-774-6196 or dial 911.

The news release does not name the deceased.

As for the man who was injured, Long said that person was in fair condition on Sunday afternoon and expected to survive.

The release says Long activated the Lake of the Ozarks Major Case Squad to assist in the investigation in addition to investigators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control.
