Elk Grove Police officers, with the help of a K-9 unit, were able to apprehend a burglary suspect yesterday morning.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of Storia Way in response to an in-progress burglary. Upon arrival, officers observed that the backdoor slider had been smashed, and that a suspect known as 25-year old Dejoel Labrandona Bruckner (pictured above) of Sacramento was in the kitchen area of the home.

Bruckner reportedly did not comply with officers instructions and attempted to flee from the residence. An EGPD K-9 was deployed and suspect was apprehended.

Bruckner was found to be in possession of property stolen from inside the residence and was arrested then transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. After he was medically cleared, he was booked into the county jail where he is being held on $85,000 bail on three felony charges including violating terms of his probation.
