The lecture, entitled “Totally Shameless: How TV Portrays the Working Class,” will be delivered at BBC Scotland’s headquarters in Glasgow on Nov. 6.
Jones is a writer, broadcaster and columnist for The Independent and a regular contributor to BBC shows, including influential political discussion show Question Time and Newsnight.
His first book, Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class, was published June 2011, and he is currently working on his second book about the British establishment.
The Royal Television Society is the oldest TV society in the world.
