The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, with Stewart back at the anchor desk for the first time in more than two months, averaged 2.02 million viewers on Tuesday night. That’s a 24 percent improvement over the year-to-date average — and a 21 percent boost from last September’s average.
It was a similar story with the key demographics, including Comedy Central’s sought-after men 18-34. The broadcast brought in a 1.5 rating with that group, up 15 percent from the year-to-date average and an impressive 30 percent from last September.
The past two months saw Daily Show correspondent Oliver sitting at the desk, averaging a 0.97 rating with men and adults 18-34 and netting an average 1.299 million viewers.
