The California Community Colleges Board of Governors voted Monday to create a 2.0 grade point average minimum for students who are receiving a fee waiver.

The new standard will take effect in 2016 and will be the first time California community colleges will require a certain GPA for fee waiver monies.

FOX40’s Eric Rucker spoke with students at American River College. Their reactions were mixed to hearing the news.
