HALIFAX — After several scandalous media appearances, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is taking his act to TV on a regular basis.
As the Toronto City Council seeks to oust Ford from office with the help of the Ontario provincial government, the embattled mayor and his brother Doug Ford will host their own TV talk show on Sun News Network, starting Monday night at 8 p.m.
Called Ford Nation, the Ford brothers’ talker is tailor-made for Sun News Network, a conservative-skewing 24/7 news channel faced with extinction for want of subscribers.

Rob and Doug Ford’s latest bid for the media spotlight follows the cancellation of their weekly Toronto radio show as the mayor’s Crack-gate scandal has gathered force.
Earlier on Thursday, the mayor donned a Toronto Argonauts jersey and held a press conference to deny allegations of oral sex with a former staffer and partying with an escort at City Hall.
The appearance caused an uproar at City Hall as it included Ford uttering the word “pussy” on live TV.

The mayor later returned to the microphones at City Hall for another hastily called press conference, this time to apologize for using “unforgivable language,” while his wife, Renata Ford, stood at his side.
Ford has in recent days become increasingly marginalized politically after admitting to smoking crack cocaine and purchasing illicit drugs while serving as mayor.
In the face of the increasing media circus gripping Toronto City Hall, captured by the world media and U.S. late-night talkers, the province of Ontario on Thursday said it will step in to deal with Ford if asked to do so.
