homicide investigationSACRAMENTO COUNTY—

A man has been pronounced dead after a shooting near Marconi and Mission Avenues Saturday night.

The shooting looks to have happened a little before 7:30 p.m., with Sacramento County Sheriff’s officials saying that they fielded numerous 911 calls about a shooting around that time.

At the scene, officers found that a man had been shot at an apartment complex. Deputies started CPR on the man, but he was soon pronounced dead at the scene.

There are conflicting reports from the scene about whether the victim was shot once or multiple times. Further, it is not confirmed at this time whether the man lived at the apartment complex.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Lisa Bowman tells FOX40 that the suspected shooter looks to have gotten away from the scene before anyone got a good description.

Anyone with information about any possible suspects is asked to call the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
