The Platino Awards will be delivered to nine categories: Ibero-American Fiction Film, Direction, Scriptwriting, Original Score, Actor, Actress, Animated Film, Documentary Film, an honorary career-achievement Platino, and a Camilo Vives Prize to an Ibero-American co-production, in a gala ceremony in Panama City on April 5, featuring performances by Latin American music stars, according to Rey.
All 22 member countries will deliver their own candidates for each category. Nominations will then be selected from that list by FIPCA members and other film academies and institutes. A jury of renowned industry people that is still being formed will choose the final winners.
Ventana Sur Film Market runs Dec. 3 to 6.
