PLACERVILLE–

Placerville Police say a man entered a woman’s bedroom while she was sleeping and removed his clothes.

“She woke up to some man standing next to her bed naked, completely naked,” said the victim’s friend, Jessics Jenkins.

Police say it happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday at an apartment complex on Ray Lawyer Drive.

A 29-year-old woman went to bed with her door unlocked when she was awoken by Tyler Mitchell, 33.

Mitchell was naked and trying to get in the victims bed.

“It scared her. She told him to get out and he did,” said Kim Nida with Placerville Police.

The victim said she remained calm, thinking mostly of her 6-year-old daughter in the next room.

But Mitchell was not a complete stranger

“She was completely shocked. It has just been ‘hi’ and ‘by.’ Just an acquaintance,” said Jenkins.

Mitchell worked at the apartment complex repairing windows. He also frequented the restaurant where the victim worked.

Police also said Mitchell is a registered sex offender. Court records reveal a long criminal history with his latest Incident an exposure arrest last spring.

Mitchell turned himself into authorities a day after the incident.

The apartment complex manager says Mitchell will not be allowed back on the premises.
