LONDON – U.K. marquee name Goldcrest Post (Goldcrest) has signaled an aggressive push into the globally renowned British postproduction arena with the hire of Patrick Malone as managing director.
Malone’s hire was announced by Chris Quested, who will now serve as Goldcrest Post CEO.
Based in London, Malone will oversee an “accelerated growth” of the company’s digital intermediate (D.I.) department in addition to strengthening the executive management of the existing award-winning sound facility, home to the Oscar-winning team from Les Miserables.
Malone most recently served as head of D.I. at Company 3, a subsidiary of Deluxe Entertainment Services and a provider of postproduction services to all the major studios.

“All the awards confirm Goldcrest Post has a long and enviable track record for their sound work. This is an incredible opportunity to add London’s premier picture facility to their client offering. I’m thrilled to be joining Chris [Quested] and the team, and I can’t wait to get started,” said Malone.
Quested noted Malone’s “depth of knowledge and expertise will play a key role in our aggressive ongoing expansion.”
Malone joins as Goldcrest Films embarks on fully financing and distributing The Autopsy of Jane Doe, director Andre Ovredal’s English-language follow-up to Troll Hunter, and Goldcrest also recently pledged to finance and distribute Brooklyn Bridge, to which Daniel Radcliffe is attached to star, beginning sales at the forthcoming European Film Market in Berlin.
