Appointed:
The Cinema Audio Society board of directors has welcomed new alternates Peter Devlin (Star Trek Into Darkness) and Bob Bronow (Deadliest Catch).
Sohonet has appointed Chuck Parker to its board of directors. He spent 15 years at Technicolor, where he held roles including president of the company’s digital division and executive vp and managing director of its international home entertainment arm.
Promoted:
Avid alum Carter Holland was upped to chief marketing officer at Newtek, which he joined in 2011 as executive vp worldwide marketing. Newtek also promoted Philip Nelson to chief relationship officer and Don Balance to vp worldwide training and development.
Hired:
London’s Lipsync Post has appointed Sal Umerji head of visual effects production. He joins the company following seven years at Molinare, where he was VFX head of production. Current features at LipSync Post include A Little Chaos, directed by Alan Rickman; Turner, directed by Mike Leigh; Anomaly, directed by Noel Clarke; and television projects include BBC2’s Great Train Robbery films.
