Veteran foreign sales agent Nadine de Barros is teaming with financier/producer Daniel Wagner and producer Robert Ogden Barnum to launch Fortitude International.
The Los Angeles-based sales and financing company will make its debut at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin. In addition to handling third-party titles, Fortitude will fully finance its own projects through equity, bridge loans and senior debt capabilities. It intends to finance and sell 10 to 15 movies a year.
Fortitude will also focus on sourcing and financing television series and miniseries. In addition to film, De Barros has a strong background in television, handling international sales on programs like Leverage and The Triangle.

De Barros most recently served as head of sales at Aldamisa International. Before that, she was vice president of sales and acquisitions at Voltage Pictures, where she worked on titles including Oscar winner The Hurt Locker and Don Jon.
Fortitude increases Wagner’s footprint in the film business. Last year, he founded production and financing company BiFrost Pictures, which has a slate including upcoming Miles Davis bio Kill the Trumpet Player, starring Don Cheadle, and Jake Paltrow‘s Sundance entry Young Ones, starring Michael Shannon and Nicholas Hoult. He also is producing Paul Bettany’s directorial debut Shelter, starring Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Mackie.
Barnum, also a producer on Kill the Trumpet Player and Shelter, and Cassian Elwes recently founded film financing firm e2b Capital. His most recent executive producing credits include All Is Lost and Lawless. He’s also worked as an executive at Benaroya Pictures and Annapurna Pictures.
“I am thrilled to be working with Daniel and Rob as we build Fortitude into a full-service international sales and financing company,” de Barros said. “I’m also very excited about our forthcoming slate of projects, both film and television series and miniseries.”
