NBC’s Saturday Night Live has found a new co-anchor of Weekend Update.
Colin Jost will co-anchor the long-running segment and join Cecily Strong behind the desk starting March 1, filling the void created by Seth Meyers‘ departure to Late Night.

Jost has been head writer at SNL since 2012, first joining the show’s writing staff in 2005. He has won three WGA Awards, a Peabody Award and has been nominated for seven Emmys for his work on the series. Jost is a 2004 graduate of Harvard University and was president of the Harvard Lampoon. He wrote and starred in the upcoming Paramount feature Staten Island Summer, based on his days as a lifeguard.
Strong was tapped as co-anchor of Weekend Update in September, working with Meyers as the latter transitioned to replace Jimmy Fallon at Late Night.
Jost joins a long roster of Weekend Update hosts at SNL including Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Fallon, Colin Quinn, Horatio Sanz and more.
