Patti Davis, the one-time actress and daughter of President Ronald Reagan, was taking heat in the Twitter-verse on Monday after apparently deleting a tweet where she complained about the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare.
“Could the president please explain why I and others are losing our health ins. plans? Wasn’t supposed to happen!” Davis tweeted on Friday.
Unsympathetic conservatives quickly responded via twitter. “So Reagans LIBERAL daughter had her insurance go up and she NOW asks why?” one tweeted. “Socialism’s less fun when you’re on the sharp end, isn’t it sweetie?” tweeted another.

Others, naturally, invoked her father, the one-time president of the Screen Actors Guild who served as U.S. president from 1981-89. One person tweeted a quote from Reagan: “Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem.”
“Your father feared this would come. Clearly you didn’t listen,” said one tweet directed at Davis. “It’s almost like dependency on Government is bad. Who Knew?” said another. “You weren’t sufficiently over-insured to satisfy the liberal ruling class. Shame you didn’t listen to your father about FREEDOM,” another tweeted.
On Monday, though, Davis’ original tweet criticizing Obamacare was gone from her Twitter timeline, though its image had already been captured by Twitchy and other websites.
Davis was an actress mostly in the 1970s and 1980s, appearing on shows like The Love Boat, Fantasy Island and CHiPs. A decade ago, she was instrumental in the fight against The Reagans, a CBS miniseries that was critical of her father and mother, Nancy Reagan, simply by confirming that no family member or close friend had been consulted by the filmmakers.

While known politically as a liberal who often clashed with her father, Davis penned an open letter earlier this month to President Barack Obama, calling on him to be more humble and less partisan.
“I’m trying hard every day to learn from the man whose DNA runs through my veins. Maybe you could try a little harder to learn from him too,” she wrote in her letter to Obama.
