Do you have stock recovery?

PS: Fijn weekend :)

Yep. And by using the volume toggle and power button i could see a log that said: assert failed. Have to recheck on what assert it failed but i'm at work right now and i don't want to mess up my phone right now :)

Bijna weekend dus :)

[edit]

Just tried and the assert fails on apply_patch_check "system/app/7digital-htc-tracking-1.0.odex" and i can imagine that it fails. Deleted 7-digital with rom cleaner :)

So is there a information of when is Android 4.3 (with sense) rolling out officialy on HTC One ? Sorry for the dumb question !
I've been following the news quite closely, and from what i gather, someone from HTC had posted a tweet about the 4.3 update planned for release by the end of September or early October in the USA. I would expect the international update to be released at most a few weeks later. I think HTC has really learned from its past mistakes and is taking the HTC One's updates more seriously relative to its previous flagships.

Now, with 4.3 already a given, the real question is - will we (HTC One owners) get the KitKat update? :cyclops: I don't think Google will come out with another major release (4.5 or 5.0) before Q1 2014, which is the usual release window for HTC's next flagship device, so HTC might reserve Android 4.4 for its next flagship, in which case, we can expect a long wait (or probably never) to get official 4.4 update on the M7.

Oh I think we can expect kitkat, 2 reasons behind this:

1. The HTC "standard" upgrade cycle in the past has been 1 major OS revision. 4.1.2 > 4.2.2 is hardly major, neither is 4.2.2 to 4.3 and all those versions carry the "Jellybean" codename, usually 1 major release means a different codename.

2. HTC One is not even a year old (yet) and unless as a company, HTC are suicidal they will not be so quick to drop support for a phone that they spent so much marketing and that so much is at stake by it.

The HTC One will get kitkat 100%. I am sure of it. It will be 9-10 months old when kitkat arrives and still be their hero device (phablets aka one max don't count as hero devices). The only problem will be the release time-frame. It will probably be quite a few months until we get it. Probably after their new hero device gets announced in February/March.

Have they said -anything- about Sense 5.5?
I saw a leaked screen that people speculated might be 5.5 but it was hideous. I'm hoping they add more homescreen size grids and adding feeds to blinkfeed.

It's called blinkFEED for f**I()*Is sake.

Agree, we need to be able to add our own custom RSS feeds via url, not just select from the Categories that HTC provides.

I think it will be Sense 5 itself
most probably by all means, the leaked screen is of HTC China OS

HTC One not getting Android updates

Hey Guys,

I bought my phone a few months ago which came with Android 4.1. and my Cid is still 0

I've now shifted to India and haven't gotten any Andriod update and every time I check for software updates I get a 17mb software enhancement update regardless of how many times I install it.

Let me know if you guys have a solution I don't want to root my phone.

Thanks in advance

There is no way you can change your CID without 'playing' with S-OFF. And if you don't want doing it I would suggest you to ask for help in your local HTC office.

Ok enough is enough. Look this is a development forum. Not some play ground for people to argue about updates to an almost dead device. IF you got the update then cool. IF not then either wait for it or flash one of the zips floating around.

I dont want to have to close this thread but if the childish bickering back and forth then I will close it.

Hey guys, let me step in here and clear up some things.

    1. As much as you may be excited about letting us know you have updated. Don't.
    • If you must say thanks, simply click the thanks button of the OP or the post that helped you, and move on.

    2. Keep all discussion in this thread on topic and helpful.
    • All post should add value to this thread and be helpful to the rest of the community in some way.

    3. Finally, if you are from a different site, don't be coming on XDA telling people they better mention your site.
    • XDA is not the place to advertise your site. Any posts of this nature will be considered as spam and will be removed.

Sorry for the interruption. Carry on :)
