“I’m thrilled to join such a talented, enthusiastic and professional group of people,” Foley said in a statement. “Shonda and company have created a troupe of layered, complex characters, and to be able to be part of that is both exciting and humbling.”
Foley joined Scandal for the second half of its sophomore season as Jake, a mysterious military guy with a connection to the president (Tony Goldwyn). While working on assignment to protect Olivia (Kerry Washington), he soon saw their relationship turn romantic and then end after she learned he was spying on her for Fitz.
In May’s season finale, it’s revealed that the spy working for the mysterious B613 organization run by Olivia’s father (Joe Morton) was a good guy after all and refused to turn on her. He was last seen being thrown into a hole where Huck had been isolated until he dedicated his life to the shady organization.

Foley currently stars on Fox’s low-rated The Goodwin Games, which, after having its order reduced, is being burned off during the summer. The series is not expected to continue beyond its initial run.
The actor recently announced his directorial debut with brother-in-law Patrick Wilson on Ward’s Wife starring Donald Faison.
Foley, whose credits also include Felicity and an arc on HBO’s True Blood, is repped by ICM Partners, Brillstein Entertainment and Sloane Offer.
