COLOGNE, Germany – In its second major TV deal with China in under a week, ZDF Enterprises has signed an extensive deal with LIC China, the Beijing-based documentary TV producer and distributor, to provide a total of 200 hours of factual programming from its extensive library for the Chinese market.
The deal, announced Tuesday, will see ZDF Enterprises, the commercial and sales arm of German pubweb ZDF, providing 100 hours this year and an additional 100 hours in 2014.

The package will include such factual series as Hard Time, a documentary look at life inside maximum security prisons in the U.S., as well as history, current affairs, wildlife, science and cultural programming.
The agreement follows a similar deal for factual programming announced last week between ZDF and CCTV, China’s largest state broadcaster.
