LONDON – Ben Stiller‘s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, the Coen brothers Inside Llewyn Davis and Oscar winner Kevin Macdonald‘s How I Live Now have been added to the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) lineup.
The movies are now part of the Cinema of the World section for the 10th edition of the festival.
DIFF co-director of the Cinema of the World program Nashen Moodley said: “Festival goers will have the opportunity to see films ahead of their cinematic release and the program has been designed to connect audiences to the widest choice of cinema from around the world.”

Ben Stiller directs and stars in Walter Mitty alongside Kristen Wiig, Shirley MacLaine and Sean Penn from a screenplay written by Steve Conrad, based on James Thurber ‘s short story about a day-dreamer who escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action.
The Coen brothers movie, loosely inspired by the life of Dave von Ronk, a young folk-music icon in 1960s New York, won the Festival de Cannes Festival Jury’s Grand Prix earlier this year and stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund and John Goodman.
Macdonald’s How I Live Now is based on the novel of same name by Meg Rosof and stars Saoirse Ronan.
Also added is Tim’s Vermeer from illusionists Penn & Teller which sees the magicians document the obsession of their friend Tim Jenison, a successful inventor who attempts to solve one of the greatest mysteries in all art: How did 17th century Dutch master Johannes Vermeer (“Girl with a Pearl Earring”) manage to paint so photo-realistically 150 years before the invention of photography?
DIFF runs Dec. 6-14.
