The much anticipated episode of Hawaii Five-O focused on the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II airs tonight on CBS at 9 pm ET/PT & 8 pm Central time.
Gil Asakawa, who writes the blog Nikkei View, wrote a good preview of the show which was also published in the Huffington Post.
The episode begins at a remembrance ceremony on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor when a Japanese American is stopped from shooting a decorated veteran he accuses of murdering his father and stealing a family heirloom while working as a guard in one of the five incarceration camps on the Island.
Through a series of flashbacks, we get a glimpse of life behind barbed wire at Honouliuli which held 1,400 Japanese American prisoners.
The episode goes through a number of twist and turns as the Five-O team sets out to investigate that murder at Honouliuli.

Racial hatred at the time, even on the Island paradise, is clearly evident.
It’s an episode that shouldn’t be missed.
