SACRAMENTO-
Raley’s and their chain of grocery stores announced Thursday a portion of their computer network system may have been the target of what they call a “complex, criminal cyber-attack.”
The company said they have not confirmed any unauthorized access to customer credit or debit card information. However, the investigation into the scope of the attack is ongoing. Raley’s stated in a press release they do not believe debit PINS could have been accessed because they do not collect specific personal information in association with payment cards.
Raley’s encourages any customers who have used credit or debit cards at their stores, including Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods, or Food Source, who may be worried about unauthorized access to monitor their bank and credit card statements. Many banks and credit card companies will not hold cardholders responsible for fraudulent charges if they are reported quickly.
The company did not explain how they discovered the “attack” or why they are calling it “criminal”.
Customers who would like further information can contact Raley’s between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. at 800-925-9989.
