Community star Gillian Jacobs has been cast opposite Kevin Costner in Black and White, the latest drama from Mike Binder (The Upside of Anger).
Jacobs joins a cast that also includes Octavia Spencer, Anthony Mackie and Jennifer Ehle.
The script, written by Binder, centers on an attorney (Costner) who battles for custody of his biracial granddaughter after the girl’s black grandmother demands the child be put under the care of her father, a drug addict whose negligence may have caused the death of the attorney’s wife.

Jacobs has the role of the girlfriend of Costner’s best friend, played by Bill Burr.
IM Global is handling international sales on the movie, now in production.
Jacobs, who soon begins production on the fifth season of Community, is filming Hot Tub Time Machine 2. She also will appear in the horror comedy Milo, picked up by Magnet/Magnolia after a screening at SXSW, and Walk of Shame, a romantic comedy starring Elizabeth Banks that Film District will release March 14.
Jacobs, repped by UTA and Principal Entertainment, is scheduled to appear Sunday at Comic-Con for the Community panel.
