Paradigm announces the following client news: Director of photography Krishna Rao will shoot new Fox series Gang Related. Production designer Fred Andrews joined ABC Family’s Ravenswood. As to editors, Deb Moran has joined NBC’s Michael J. Fox series, Terrell Clegg will cut NBC’s Night Shift, Orlando Duenas will cut DreamWorks’ Everest, ?and Larry Jordan joined indie Flock of Dudes.
Pre-Siggraph company news:
Next week at Siggraph, Christie will show its HoloStation personal visualization system, the 84-inch Christie QuadHD84 LCD flat panel, and 4K DLP Christie Mirage 4K25 projector. The company also plans to preview an interactive flat panel visualization bundle, with quad HD and multi-touch technology; and an LED-based 1-chip DLP Christie Mirage WQ-L projector.
Tweak Software will unwrap version 4.0 of its RV image and sequence viewer with a new hardware accelerated image processing architecture. Just prior to the start of Siggraph, Tweak also announced that VFX company MPC has standardized on RV for playback and review across its feature VFX facilities in Vancouver, Montréal, London and Bangalore. As early adopters, RV was first used at MPC in 2010, on projects including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Life of Pi and World War Z.
Thinkbox Software will preview updates to its Deadline cross-platform render management system as well as plug-ins for Autodesk Maya and Autodesk 3ds Max.
STORY: Emmy Nominations By The Numbers
Imagineer Systems will show the latest version of its mocha Pro motion tracking tool. In February, the developers of mocha and its Planar Tracking technology received Scientific and Technical Awards.
Shotgun Software will show the version 5.1 release of its production management platform, with new features including a redesigned user interface and browsing tools, as well as the option to create and edit playlists in Shotgun’s included Screening Room review tool.
