STOCKTON—

Police in Stockton say that a car chase ended abruptly after the car they were chasing crashed into a red-light pole.

The chase started a little after 11 a.m. Monday, near Pock Lane and Carpenter Road, according to a release from the Stockton Police Department. Officers were trying to pull over a car for some sort of traffic violation when the driver decided to take off.

After about a minute, and about a mile down the road, the chase came to an end after the fleeing car hit a red-light pole at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and B Street.

Both occupants inside the car tried to take off running, but officers were able to catch up to the two and arrest them.

The driver, 24-year-old Winn Her, now faces driving under the influence and felony traffic charges, while 20-year-old Bee Her faces a charge of resisting arrest.
