Panh uses clay figures, voice-over narration and archival footage to describe the atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia between 1975 and 1979.
Strand plans to screen the film at U.S. festivals in the fall and then open it theatrically in the spring.
The deal was negotiated by Strand’s Jon Gerrans and Nicolas Brigaud-Robert of Films Distribution.
