The overrun of the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys game gave Fox’s primetime block an especially strong start. The last half-hour of the game averaged a 6.9 rating among adults 18-49 in initial returns, with The OT (6.5 adults) following.
As for the network’s animation block, The Simpsons (3.5 adults) improved four-tenths of a point from last week. Bob’s Burgers (2.4 adults), Family Guy (3.0 adults) and American Dad (2.4 adults) each improved by three-tenths — with Family Guy likely attributing some of its lift to the return of Brian the dog. Fox averaged a 4.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 11 million viewers.
Sunday Night Football (6.0 adults) matched last week’s initial rating, which ultimately rose to a 6.9. For the night, NBC averaged a 4.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 12.2 million viewers.
CBS also saw some overrun, so its ratings are subject to change, but initial returns have 60 Minutes (1.7 adults) down three-tenths of a point from last week. Survivor (2.6 adults) wrapped its season up a tenth of a point from its last Wednesday episode but down six-tenths of a point from the comparable finale last December. The reunion special averaged a 1.9 adults rating, giving CBS a nightly average of a 2.2 rating with adults 18-49 and 9.7 million viewers.
America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.4 adults) kicked off ABC’s night down a tenth of a point. Once Upon a Time (1.9 adults) was down two-tenths of a point in its winter finale, and Revenge (1.5 adults) dropped by one-tenth. Betrayal (0.8 adults) was up from the previous episode by a tenth. ABC took a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 5.7 million viewers for the night.
