Three actors were recognized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association more than once when the Golden Globe nominations were announced Thursday morning.
Chiwetel Ejiofor, Idris Elba and Julia Louis-Dreyfus all received nominations in both the film and television categories.
Louis-Dreyfus was nominated for best actress in a motion picture, musical or comedy, for Enough Said, in which she plays a divorced woman who learns the man she’s interested in (James Gandolfini) is her new friend’s ex-husband.
She also earned best actress honors for the HBO comedy series Veep, in which she plays U.S. Vice President Selina Meyer. That role earned her an Emmy earlier this year and in 2012.
“No shit, it’s a been a crazy few days!” Louis-Dreyfus said. “The whole thing is so bizarre, head-spinny and skin-pinchy. I’ve just been told that Helen Mirren and Judi Dench are the only others to receive TV and film nominations in the same year. I’m not complaining! ”
These mark Louis-Dreyfus’ fourth and fifth Golden Globe nominations overall. She won in 1994 for Seinfeld.
Ejiofor and Elba each landed nominations for best actor in a motion picture, drama, and best actor in a miniseries or TV movie.

Ejiofor was nominated for his work as a free man who gets sold into slavery in 12 Years a Slave in addition to his role as his role as the leader of a black jazz band in 1930s London in Starz’s Dancing on the Edge. Ejiofor has received three prior Globe nominations.
Elba received nominations for his portrayal of Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom along with his role as a detective in BBC America’s Luther. He won the Golden Globe last year for Luther and also was nominated in 2011.
“I’m truly humbled and honored to be acknowledged for two projects that, though very different from one another, are both extremely personal and special to me,” Elba said. “Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press for your support, and I would also like to give a special thank you to Mr. Mandela, who will be forever missed.”
