COLOGNE, Germany – Hotel Hell, the Gordon Ramsay-fronted reality series which proved a hit in its debut for Fox last season, is going global, with new licensing deals for the show for Spain, Australia, Slovakia and Iceland.
The makeover series, in which Ramsay travels around the U.S. trying to fix the country’s worst hotels, inns and bed and breakfasts, was picked up by Mediaset in Spain, Australia’s Nine Network, TV Joi in Slovakia and Skjarrin in Iceland from All3Media distribution subsidiary Optomen International.

Produced by Ramsay’s shingle One Potato Two Potato, Hotel Hell scored the highest ratings for a new broadcast series in the 2012 summer season, and Fox has ordered a second series to go out this fall.
Hotel Hell‘s first season launched in the U.K. on Channel 4 on Monday, where it attracted 1.14 million viewers, a respectable if not spectacular debut.
