It’s a family affair on the next Suits.
Star Gabriel Macht, who plays hotshot Manhattan lawyer Harvey Specter, reunites with his father, Stephen Macht, on the small screen in this Thursday’s episode, “Yesterday’s Gone.” The elder Macht plays Harvard Law’s Professor Gerard, notorious for his high standards and rigid ways. Harvey’s relationship with Gerard is icy at best.
The Hollywood Reporter exclusively debuts a clip from the USA Network legal drama featuring Harvey and Gerard’s verbal throw down. “Looks the same as the last time I was here,” Harvey says as he walks into Gerard’s office. “Can’t say you look the same since the last time you were here,” Gerard bites back. “Yes you can,” Harvey says, causing Gerard to laugh.
The two don’t see eye to eye on how to go about practicing the law, with Gerard looking down upon Harvey’s knack for settling (or “closing”) cases out of court. “I know what it takes for you to do what you do and compromising your way through life is no way to go about the law,” Gerard says. But Harvey has his own zinger. Watch the scene above.
“I’m really proud of the scene that I have with my father. The tension is there and the threat is there,” Gabriel Macht told THR in January. “He was excellent and it was fun to play with him.”
Suits airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on USA Network.
