Rashida Jones may be leaving Pawnee but she’s bringing a piece of Parks and Recreation with her for her next project.
The actress, who will exit the NBC comedy after its first 13 season six episodes, is developing a comedy with Parks writer Alexandra Rushfield, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Titled Stuck, the single-camera comedy has landed at Fox with a put-pilot commitment. Jones and her writing partner Will McCormack will executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. There are currently no plans for Jones to have an on-screen role.
Stuck revolves around a middle-aged woman who works at a bank and gets her “stuck in childhood” daughter a job there. Within a day, the daughter becomes the mother’s boss. The comedy will follow the duo at home and work as they help one another get “unstuck.”
The comedy marks the first project to come out of the two-year pod deal Jones and McCormack (Celeste & Jesse Forever) signed in January.
The news comes a week after news leaked that Jones and her Parks co-star Rob Lowe would depart NBC’s sole returning fall comedy. The on-screen pair will exit following the 13th episode of the show’s upcoming sixth season.

Parks showrunner Mike Schur told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that Jones and Lowe’s departures were organic to the story and fit into the career plans for both actors.
“The real headline is that everyone is happy. There’s no controversy involved here,” he said of their season six baby story line. “We had the idea, creatively, to move in that direction, and it totally dovetailed and aligned with what the two actors envisioned for themselves and their careers,” Schur said. “It’s a big, happy, neutral hugfest celebration. Everyone is happy.”
Rushfield has been a writer and co-executive producer on Parks since 2012, her credits includeUndeclared, Help Me Help You and In the Motherhood. Rushfield is repped by UTA and Ziffren Brittenham. Jones is with UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Schreck Rose. McCormack is with UTA and Loeb & Loeb.
