Shondaland has sold its second project this development season.
Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal duo Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers are teaming with Dana Calvo (Made in Jersey) for a cop drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The untitled ABC Studios entry is set in one of America’s most eclectic and vibrant cities and follows an unorthodox detective and his methodical new partner as they solve cases t hat only seem to happen in the neon wilds of Miami.

Calvo, whose credits also include Franklin & Bash, Covert Affairs, Greek and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, will pen the script and executive produce alongside Rhimes and Beers.
This marks the second sale so far this development season for Rhimes’ ABC Studios-based Shondaland banner, joining ABC’s K.J. Steinberg (Rhimes’ pilot Gilded Lilys) Lawless drama about a maverick attorney inspired by the life of victims’ rights lawyer Wynona Ward, founder of Have Justice Will Travel.
It marks the latest project on Shondaland’s full plate, joining full seasons of Grey’s and Scandal as well as feature film War Correspondents, which is set up at Sony’s Columbia Pictures.
