A 19-year old Sacramento woman is being held on $160,000 bail after she allegedly shoplifted and pepper sprayed a store employee in Elk Grove yesterday afternoon.

According to Elk Grove Police, Precious Jazmine Pittman of Sacramento was observed shoplifting by store personnel at the Old Navy outlet on West Stockton Blvd. As a store employee approached the suspect as she left, Pittman allegedly refused to go back in the store, pulled out pepper spray and discharged it on the employee's face.

During the ensuing altercation, one of the three juveniles with Pittman was pushed into a glass door. A 15-year old female who was holding an infant, also discharged pepper spray at the employee.

The suspects then ran to a nearby car and drove away. A license plate number was provided to responding officers who were able to locate the described vehicle a short distance away and conducted an enforcement stop.

After being detained, the store employee was able to positively identify Pittman and the 15-year old as being involved in the robbery and use of pepper spray. The stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.

Pittman was arrested and taken to the county jail where she remains in custody on robbery and assault with caustic chemical charges. The 15-year old was taken into custody then transported to juvenile hall.

Stronger economic development, one armed "Precious Jazmine" at a time. Name sounds like a flower. Let's throw in one stronger drought tolerant landscaping at a time also!
