Two University of Colorado women’s basketball players suffered minor injuries and one of them was ticketed in an accident near the Erie Municipal Airport on Saturday afternoon that injured one other person.

Erie police Patrol Officer Eric Mayhue said the two women were in a van headed east on Arapahoe Road around 4:30 p.m. Kailah Bailey, a freshman forward from Omaha, was driving. Courtney Dunn, a senior center from Berkeley, Calif., was in the passenger seat.

Bailey turned left at County Line Road to go north and hit another vehicle that was headed south on County Line, Mayhue said.

Mayhue said all three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and were released Saturday evening.

Bailey was ticketed for failure to yield, Mayhue said.

CU athletic department Assistant Director for Sports Information Troy Andre said the two players were on their way to Erie’s Trunk or Treat event to hand out candy.

Bailey suffered a mild concussion, and Dunn suffered an injury to her back, he said.

Andre said both players will be evaluated again by CU medical staff on Sunday.
