LONDON – British actor David Morrissey (The Walking Dead), is to star in three-part thriller The Driver for the BBC.
BAFTA award-winning screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst (Shameless U.K.) has penned the script.
The film focuses on a taxi driver who blames himself and his inadequacies after a family mystery and makes the mistake of accepting an offer to start driving for a criminal gang.

The tale of redemption is co-created by Jim Poyser and co-produced by Morrissey’s own banner, Highfield Pictures, and RED Production Company for BBC One.
Jamie Payne (Doctor Who) directs the three-parter, which also stars Ian Hart, Colm Meaney, Shaun Dingwall, Claudie Blakley, Sacha Parkinson and Lee Ross.
Morrissey, who is also on screens in the U.S. in AMC pilot Line Of Sight, will executive produce the thriller with Nicola Shindler for Red and Polly Hill for BBC One.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in the U.K. this week for a 2014 airdate.
