SEOUL – The Jeonju Project Promotion (JPP), an indie/arthouse film financing event, will open for submissions of feature and documentary projects from Feb. 10-20.
JPP is organized by the Jeonju International Film Festival, South Korea’s leading indie film event. The 15th edition will take place May 1-10 in host city Jeonju.
JPP will select five features and five documentaries for theatrical releases. Top winners will be awarded cash prizes of about $9,300 (10 million won), funding for English subtitles, and other technical support. French broadcaster TV5 Monde will also award a special prize to a feature project.

JPP launched in 2009. The 2012 pitching project A Dream of Iron by Kelvin Kyungkun Park has been invited to show at the Forum section of the Berlinale this year, while last year’s With or Without You by Hyuckjee Park was featured in the Central Pitch section of the 2013 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. Another work from 2013, Jageun Hyeong by Shim Sang-jin, is slated to wrap up production in February and hit local theaters later this year.
Application forms can be downloaded at www.jiff.or.kr and must be sent to jpp@jiff.or.kr (features) or industry@jiff.or.kr (documentaries).
