City of Davis Adds Extra SecurityDAVIS—

Police in Davis are investigating an attempted sexual assault outside of an apartment complex near Alvarado Avenue and Anderson Road.

According to a release from Davis Police, the woman told police that she had just gotten home around 10:30 p.m. and was walking back from her car when a strange man confronted her. She says the man forced her back to her car and tried to sexually assault her.

However, she was able to fight back, police say, giving her the opportunity to get away.

Police officers showed up and did a search of the area, but couldn’t find the suspect. He is described as a black man, about 5’11’’ tall, 220 pounds, bald and with a salt-and-pepper beard.
