USA Network is continuing its push into unscripted.
The half-hour Chrisley Knows Best (working title), which revolves around an Atlanta family led by self-made multimillionaire Todd Chrisley, has been given an eight-episode order, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The series will premiere on Tuesday, March 11 at 10 p.m. following Modern Family.
The series follows the brash and outspoken Todd, his wife, Julie, and their five children — Lindsie, 24; Kyle, 22; Chase, 17; Savannah, 16; and Grayson, 7 — who live a seemingly perfect Southern life with everything money can buy. A “patriarch of perfection,” Todd runs his family like his business — with an iron fist — and micromanages every move and expense. Behind the facade of the 30,000 sq. ft. home, real-life issues and drama are uncovered.

“Chrisley Knows Best is a broad family comedy that is a modern version of Father Knows Best with the volume turned way up,” said Heather Olander, senior vp alternative programming at USA Network. “While their lifestyle is over-the-top and their personalities are larger-than-life, the Chrisleys are a very close-knit family who are refreshingly honest and genuinely funny.”
To increase exposure, sister network E! will broadcast encores of Chrisley Knows Best on Sunday evenings beginning on March 16 at 10:30 p.m.
As part of the announcement, USA unveiled a lengthy six-minute first look at the series, setting up the premise of the show as well as offering a glimpse at the extravagant lifestyle the Chrisleys live.

At different moments during the preview, Todd name-drops Usher and Chipper Jones as residents in his affluent neighborhood, explains how he came to be a multimillionaire (“I’ve made 95 percent of all the money that we’ve ever made in real estate”) and his desires to head into fashion via a new department store (the family spends $300,000 a year on clothes alone). Maverick TV and All3Media America are the production companies behind Chrisley Knows Best. Adam Greener, Jim Sayer and Stephanie Bloch Chambers are executive producers, with Annie Kate Pons as supervising producer.
The series order comes after USA entered the reality space earlier this year with inspirational series The Moment with Kurt Warner and reality competition Summer Camp after an established script slate. Forthcoming unscripted efforts include a U.S. version of The Choir and Partners in Crime.
