FAIRFIELD-
A 7-alarm fire in Fairfield has prompted evacuations around Marigold Drive and I-80, including an entire apartment complex on North Texas Street.
The manager at the Summit At Paradise Valley apartments told FOX40 that none of the buildings in complex are on fire, and that things nearby have calmed down considerably compared to earlier.
Flames reached just feet away before firefighters put them out, she said.
Officials say five structures have burned and another five are threatened.
High winds helped the flames spread. The fire began around 4 p.m.
