The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Game of Thrones won awards for outstanding location, feature film and TV, respectively, at the debut Location Managers Guild of America Awards, Saturday at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills.
Also during the ceremony, Iron Man 3’s Ilt Jones won the award for outstanding achievement by a location professional, feature film. Game of Thrones’ Robert Boake topped the TV category, and David Doumeng and Charlie Love (Nike) were honored in the commercial category.

The Albuquerque Film Commission (Breaking Bad and Lone Survivor) was recognized as outstanding film commission.
Two-time Oscar-winning director, producer and screenwriter Alexander Payne (Nebraska, The Descendants) received the first Eva Monley Award, presented by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs, for his “dedicated understanding of the power of quality locations to enhance a story.” Payne is currently filming on location and was unable to attend.
Two-time Oscar-winning director of photography Haskell Wexler was the recipient of the Humanitarian Award, presented by Billy Crystal. Wexler’s film industry organization 12 On/12 Off supports his humanitarian efforts over two decades of promoting safe and responsible filmmaking. He won Oscars for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf? and Bound for Glory.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed on commercial location scout Scott Dewees, presented by Jackie Joseph.
Sheri Davis, director of the Inland Empire Film Commission, received the Trailblazer Award, presented by LMGA president Nancy Haecker.
