Gallowwalkers, the supernatural Western starring Wesley Snipes, has been snapped up by international buyers, with VMI Worldwide closing deals across Europe, Australia and South America for the title.
The genre actioner, produced by Courtney Lauren Penn and Brandon Burrows for Boundless Pictures, went to Ascot Elite in Germany, Scandinavia’s Non Stop Entertainment, Signature Entertainment in the U.K., Australia’s Eagle Entertainment and SNapSoul for South Korea. Other territories sold included Brazil (Global Media Holdings), Turkey (Krea Icerik Hizmetleri) and the Czech Republic (Vapet Production).
Star Films picked up rights for Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador.
Andrew Goth directed and co-wrote Gallowwalkers with Joanne Reay. The film follows mysterious gunman Aman (Snipes), the son of a nun cursed by God to be haunted by all those who die by his hand. When Aman kills a gang of murderers out of revenge, the crew rises from the dead to hunt him down. Jack Bowyer executive produced.
Wrekin Hill Entertainment picked up the title in the U.S. for a multiplatform release earlier this year. VMI, which is handling world sales, also sold Gallowwalkers to Presidio for Japan and Phoenicia for the Middle East following its market debut at the EFM in Berlin in February.
