TORONTO – Canadian indie producer Amaze Film + Television has unveiled key hires as it looks to bump up its production and development slates in 2014.
Veteran producer Victoria Hirst (American Psycho, Century Hotel) becomes executive in charge of production, while Tara Woodbury boards as director of development.
Hirst most recently produced the Canadian kids series Mr. Young in Vancouver for Thunderbird Films.
Amaze Film, which co-produces the Jason Priestley-starrer Call Me Fitz and has a first look deal with Entertainment One, is shortly to start production on an un-named TV series in late March.
Woodbury will oversee Amaze Film’s development slate after serving as a development executive at Alcina Pictures, and as a story editor on The Colony, which stars Laurence Fishburne and Bill Paxton.
“Tara has a strong record of finding and developing new talent and projects. Her keen understanding of the industry provides her with the perfect skill set to guide our diverse development slate into production,“ said Michael Souther, co-president of Amaze Film along with Teza Lawrence, in a statement Monday.
