Saturday Night Live mocked George Zimmerman — and the Florida police — in its cold open this week.
Zimmerman, who was acquitted earlier this year in the shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, was arrested this week for allegedly threatening his new girlfriend with a gun.
On SNL Piers Morgan (Taran Killam) interviewed Zimmerman’s girlfriend (Kate McKinnon), who said she and Zimmerman like to role play, with her pretending to be a French maid, and Zimmerman playing a homeowner owner who has every right to defend his property.

“George wants to have a shotgun wedding. And by that I mean he’s marrying his gun,” said the girlfriend.
Morgan also interviewed a Florida police chief (Bobby Moynihan), asking him why the police were powerless to stop Zimmerman from causing trouble.
“Frankly, he has way more guns than us,” the chief said, adding that they put an ankle tracker on Zimmerman after his last arrest.
The police chief checked the tracker, and looked worried when he saw Zimmerman was at a gun store. Zimmerman then went to a liquor store, before going back to the gun store.

Finally, George Zimmer (Mike O’Brien), the founder of Men’s Warehouse, said he was tired of people mistaking him for Zimmerman.
“I do not like the way he’s making me look — I guarantee it. He’s dragging the first two-thirds of my name through the mud,” he said. “I keep telling people, ‘I’m not George Zimmerman, I’m George Zimmer, man!”
Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays on NBC at 11:30 p.m.
