The Simpsons is the latest TV show to pay tribute to retiring late-night legend David Letterman.
The long-running Fox animated series put together a Late Show-inspired version of its famous couch opening.

The bit begins with the Simpson family in New York, stuck in the back of a cab in traffic. After they get out and walk to the Ed Sullivan Theater, where Letterman’s show is taped, the clan is informed that they’re not on the list, leading Homer to head-butt two guards.
They then race in and plop on the couch on Letterman’s stage, but the host sounds disappointed that that’s all there is.
“That’s it? We flew you in and put you up for that? I think we’re done here,” animated Letterman says before cutting to Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra (the Late Show band) to play The Simpsons’ theme.

The clip ends with a title card reading, “We’ll miss you, Dave.”
