TORONTO — Warehouse 13‘s Aaron Ashmore has boarded writer-director Daniel Perlmutter‘s theatrical debut Big News From Grand Rock.
The indie comedy stars Ennis Esmer as Leonard Crane, the editor of a small-town newspaper that staves off bankruptcy by passing off the plots of old movies as local news, only to attract the attention of a big-city reporter.
The film, which is set to start shooting in Toronto in October, also stars Meredith MacNeill and is produced by Judy Holm and Michael McNamara of Markham Street Films.
Big News From Grand Rock was developed as part of the Telefilm Canada Features Comedy Lab before finding a home at Markham Street Films.
