SACRAMENTO COUNTY–

The sign says it all – “Mellow Me Out. A place to go relax … and enjoy a massage.” But, police say a masseur, 23-year-old Jeremiah Acevedo, abused his touching privileges inside one the shop’s rooms.

He’s been hit with two charges for sexual assault.

“I have no idea … That’s between the two parties and we are continuing as business as usual,” said Sonia Lucas, the owner of Mellow Me Out.

Lucas said she vets all applicants before they get the job.

“They have to do a practical on a manager, must be licensed by the state of California, and they have to do a FBI background checks,” Lucas said.

She said Acevedo worked at Mellow Me Out for two years, and at one point was voted by his coworkers as employee of the year.

“He signed up for the Navy and that was the end of that,” Lucas said.

Lucas said she’s not sure what crime, if any, occurred. But, she knows this is the first time she’s ever seen a case come to her front door in 13 years of operating a business

“I hope the community … will stand behind the 15 male therapists I have working for me, because they do a stellar job,” Lucas said.

Acevedo lists Mellow Me Out as his current employer on his Facebook fan page. And, on the spa’s website, he’s listed as a worker, but the owner says he’s been gone for months.

“He hasn’t even worked with us since last June,” Lucas said.

Acevedo was arrested in August and bailed out. Sacramento County Sheriff’s Detectives believe there are more victims and hope they come forward.
